The School of Humanities and Social Sciences

Students enroll in liberal arts and business courses in French and English designed for all majors. Introductory French courses are offered for students new to the language while intermediate and advanced courses are also available for those wishing to enhance their previous language studies.

Pre-requisites: Not Applicable

The Marchutz School of Fine Arts

Semester students enroll in an art criticism seminar and two studio courses in painting and drawing, all held at the Marchutz studio. In addition, students also enroll in an art history course of their choosing and a French language course, both taken at IAU's School of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Pre-requisites: Not Applicable. No previous art experience required.

The French Honors Program

This program is an advanced level track which enables both semester and summer students to have a comprehensive language and cultural immersion experience.

Pre-requisites: Four semesters of college-level French or equivalent.

Spanish Cultural Immersion Program (Barcelona, Spain)

This four-week intensive program of cultural engagement and language study allows students to earn up to six academic credits in Spanish language and culture.

Pre-requisites: Two semesters of college-level Spanish or equivalent.

Travel Seminar

This 18-day academic and cultural tour of 12 key cities in France, Morocco and Spain. The academic component consists of a series of briefings from leading European academic, literary and political personalities and experts on the European relationship with the Islamic world. Participants will attend daily lectures and meetings with distinguished scholars from IAU in addition to local guides and experts in the field of politics, history and culture.
