IAU students at Le Centre d’Avignon have long enjoyed the cell phone option provided at the Center, one which has worked very well for previous and current students.

Used cell phones in good to excellent working condition are available for buying/leasing (in the 35 to 100€ range). These phones, deposited with us by students from the previous session, are “bought” using an American personal check (forwarded by us to the previous owner). At the end of the session, current owners leave the phones for resale to the next group at a price they determine. In due time (when their phone is “sold” again), we send them the new student’s personal check. We only act as facilitators, and we are right here when you need help.

NO BIG SURPRISES at the end of the month!
YOU control your own spending.

• You select your cell phone when you arrive (we cannot send it to you prior to your arrival in Avignon). Your family and friends can call you at no cost to you, since incoming minutes on French cell phones are FREE.
• You can call your host, friends or send SMS (short text messages).
• You can better control your spending, since your outgoing minutes are activated through the purchase of a phone card in amounts of 10€, 15€, 20€, etc.
• Basically, the phone is “free” to you (unless you break or lose it) and you only pay for the minutes or SMS you use.
