Summer Term

All three of IAU's programs provide students with a six-week summer option, running typically from mid-June through late July. The summer programs are condensed versions of their semester counterparts and are perfect for students who find it difficult to enroll for a semester-long program or for those looking to take advantage of the study abroad experience during the glorious summer months in Provence.

Summer students at IAU enroll in two courses (six credit hours), participate in a homestay (lodging and most meals with a French host), and enjoy staff-led excursions to regional locales.

Students are encouraged to visit the program comparison page for a quick overview of IAU's program options or view the respective center sites:

The Aix Center: a liberal arts program in Aix-en-Provence offering courses in English and French for beginning through advanced French language students and perfect for virtually any liberal arts major.

The Marchutz School of Art: for studio and liberal arts majors and located in the countryside of Aix-en-Provence, Marchutz takes an interdisciplinary and holistic approach to art education.

Le Centre d'Avignon: a cultural immersion program in Avignon for students whose French is sufficent enough (beyond 4th semester) to conduct all of their courses in French. Students may also particiapte in a for-credit internship or enroll in a course for-credit at the local French university.
