Creative Writing

IAU College is pleased to announce the implementation of a Creative Writing Track for summer and semester students. Become involved in the cultural, natural, linguistic, and architectural features of Aix-en-Provence and the Mediterranean basin!

Students have the opportunity to frame the study and practice of creative nonfiction writing in relation to their study abroad experience. Students will focus on the techniques of writing creative nonfiction and the development of the creative process by participating in writing and editing exercises and workshops. The courses will examine the ways in which the writing process and cross-cultural experiences are parallel endeavors that can serve to inform and answer each other.

Field Studies
Students participate in day-long field studies in the region and embark on various guided visits around Aix in service of developing additional material to that which is garnered through their daily experiences in Provence.

Visiting Writers
Each semester selected visiting writers from various disciplines and cultures will be invited to IAU College to give readings and workshop with the students. Upcoming visitors will be announced on the IAU college website.
