University of Arizona–College of Humanities Study Abroad Program for Adult Learners–2018

Join UA College of Humanities Dean A-P Durand, a native of Provence, and Humanities Seminars Program Director Malcolm Compitello on this inaugural study abroad program for adult learners.

Program Fee Per Participant:

  • Option 1: $4,975 (Individual Room)
  • Option 2: $4,475 (Double Room)
  • Option 3: $2,975 (Without Lodging)
Program fees include hotel accommodations (options 1+2), continental breakfast every day (options 1+2), two group lunches, two evening meals, transportation, entrances to all scheduled cultural activities (unless otherwise noted), access to IAU facilities, and 24/7 emergency support.

Passport and visa fees (if applicable), transatlantic airfare, meals not listed above, international insurance, and airport transfers are not included in the program fees.

Registration & Program Deposit:

Complete the IAU Registration Form and submit your $500 initial deposit to IAU on or before January 5, 2018.


Note that you will need to make multiple payments per person: Two to IAU (deposit and remaining balance) and one to the College of Humanities through the UA Foundation. 

To make a payment to IAU via credit card, visit the IAU Payment Portal, select "Other Payment," and in the description list write, "UA COH Adult Study Abroad 2018." Proceed through the payment steps. You will do this to make the initial $500 deposit and then again for the remaining balance if you choose to pay via credit card. A list of all IAU payment options can be found here

Follow this link to make your $250 donation to the UA Foundation that will go toward the Humanities Seminars Program and the College of Humanities. Please note that this is separate from the IAU payments.

Morning: "Emile Zola’s Aix-en-Provence – The Second Empire and Aix in the Mid-Nineteenth Century" with Dr. Leigh Smith, Dean of IAU. Lecture given as a walking tour of Aix-en-Provence followed by lunch with IAU faculty and staff.
Afternoon: Lecture Seminar 2 - "Practical French Language & Culture" with Professor Estelle Roger-Fix, Professor and French Language Coordinator
